Required Documents for a Schengen Visa (25. Edition Afrika Festival Tübingen Participation)

Is this your first time to apply and participate at our event in Germany – Afrika festival Tübingen -Germany, are you are coming from a Non-European country, for example you are coming from Africa, Asia, Canada, USA..then you need a Visa to attend our festival in Germany, Europe. If you are coming from Africa, then you will need a Schengen Visa – Type C, Short stay of 90 days, 3 months duration. Be aware it is just a duration, your Visas will be according depended on the festival duration period. For the festival, we adivce 10days duration.

We have carefully put out a detailed list of the required documents to help you participate at the 25 edition Afrika Festival Tübingen -Germany (Umoja).

1. Find here the Documents needed and procedures

You need a Visa Application Form from the German embassy or consulate in your country. Fill out the form signed and dated.

You need a Passport, Valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, with at least two blank pages.

You need Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos (35x45mm)

2. Travel Documents

You need a Flight Reservation for your visa application – Proof of round-trip ticket booking (please do not purchase before visa approval).

You need Accommodation Confirmation, Hotel booking, please here also just a reservation and you will confirm after you have received a travel Visa, You need a space rental agreement, or confirmation letter from Afrika festival Tübingen – Germany organizer with your registration file – Form, payment fulfilled and receipt 

3. Financial Proof

You need a Proof of Financial Means, how you intend to finance your stay in Germany during the festival days

You need to provide Recent bank statements (last 3–6 months).

Or a Sponsorship letter (if someone is covering your expenses) with their financial documents.

You need to provide a Proof of Employment/Income:

Provide an Employment letter or pay slips (if employed).

Provide your business registration and tax documents (if self-employed).

Provide proof of student status (if applicable).

4. Festival-Specific Documents

You need an Invitation Letter, From the festival organizer, detailing your participation, including dates and purpose of the festival

You need the festival Registration Proof: If applicable, a confirmation of registration, payment and receipt

5. Travel Insurance

You need a Medical Travel Insurance: Coverage of at least €30,000, valid in all Schengen countries, covering emergency medical treatment, hospitalization, and repatriation

6. Proof of Return to Home Country

You need to provide documents showing strong ties to your home country,

such as: Proof of family (marriage certificate, birth certificates, etc.).

Proof of employment or education, Property ownership documents (if any).

7. Additional Documents(if applicable):

No Objection Certificate (NOC): From your employer or educational institution, if required.

Previous Visas: Copies of any previously issued Schengen or other international visas, this will be seen in your passport, in case your passport is new and you have a travel history, please take your old passport with your, or simply photocopy the pages with visas

Submit your application as earlier as possible, as a matter of fact, do it today to facilitate your trip and reduce stress

All documents must be in English or German. Certified translations are required for documents in other languages.
