The world and Africa are taking notes. These demos have really gone viral. I have seen media shows analysing them in many African countries and international media houses.

The demonstrations have revealed how the power of the people can be deployed to change a country. For the first time in the history of this country, politicians have been held accountable for their decisions. Never in the history of this country has the government been put on its defence the way it has happened.

Some people are trying to underrate these events. Some think that this is a passing cloud and that we can go back to business as usual. Forget it! This country has changed forever. The days when politicians lorded over the people are gone.

We have entered a new era of accountable leadership. Leaders will have to think thrice before making any decision that impacts the people. The dawn of a new Kenya is at hand. Nothing can reverse or cancel the momentum. Those opposed to change will be swept away by the tide.”
