This is Patrice Lumumba. This photo was taken a day before he was brutally murdered. When I look at this photo, my entire body gets sick! I scream with anguish! Tears flow from my eyes non-stop!

I try to venture into his mind. What was he thinking at that particular time? Who was he looking at? My God Patrice…..what were you thinking? What? Did the betrayal make you sad? He looked so sad. I can for a minute tell he felt sorry for his people.

This photo does things to me that I can’t even explain. It breaks me into pieces.

This is what DRC did to it’s own son. DRC killed it’s own sun!

This man was a genius! This man was a patriot! But here he is, tied up like an animal waiting for its slaughter! And slaughtering him they did……they killed him…buried him…..then unburied him…cut his body into pieces….

Patrice Lumumba’s undoing was a speech he gave in Belgium as PM where he told off the Belgian dynasty of King Leopold for the atrocities the Belgian crown committed in DRC. The same dynasty went on to recruit the CIA to plan a coup against Lumumba and installed a buffoon called Mobutu.

Am always aware that with everything I say, am stepping on toes….but what can you do when the spirit of a man like this lives in you? Ata nikataka kunyamaza…I can’t!
