Every good deed deserves to be celebrated, and the Afrika Festival Tübingen has gained widespread recognition and endorsement from top decision-makers. Former German Presidents Horst Köhler (2010) and Joachim Gauck (2013) as well as Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann (2016), have all extended kind words of support and greetings to the festival, Professor PLO Lumumba attended in (2019). Their endorsements highlight the festival’s cultural and social impact in Germany and beyond.

Additionally, more than 15 African ambassadors and diplomats based in Berlin have attended and publicly supported the festival. Their participation underscores the importance of the festival as a platform for cultural exchange, unity, and promoting African heritage in Germany. These endorsements from prominent leaders and dignitaries serve as a testament to the festival’s role in fostering meaningful connections and driving positive change.

This has always been for you.

Every early morning under grey skies in Tübingen.

Every prayer whispered between tents, every journey back home in our minds—this was our letter to you.

Not written in ink, but in action.
Not sealed with stamps, but with sweat, song, and sacrifice.

This is not goodbye

It is the beginning of a new sentence in a longer letter.

We write this to say:
We see you.
We are you.
And we are coming home—not just in body, but in purpose.

You are vast, complex, and unfinished. But so are we.

We have disagreed, stumbled, lost our way at times. But still—we keep showing up.
