It’s first edition shall be hosted during the 26. edition Afrika Festival Tübingen 04 – 07, 2026, precisely on Sunday, 07th June 2026 from 17 -00.00 at a very historical location- Alte Aula Hall, Uhlandstraße 30, 72070 Tübingen Germany.

Award Categories

Black Excellence Trailblazer Award

For an individual who has made a lasting impact in shaping Black identity, empowerment, or leadership in Europe and / Africa.

Cultural Heritage & Arts Award

For outstanding work in preserving, promoting, or innovating African culture—music, dance, visual arts, fashion, or literature.

Business & Entrepreneurship Award

Recognizes Black entrepreneurs – businesses in Germany and beyond who are creating jobs, transforming industries, or building cross-continental value chains.

Education & Knowledge Empowerment Award

Honors educators, researchers, knowledge institutions promoting African knowledge systems, decolonial education, or intercultural learning.

Diaspora Connect Award

For initiatives that connect Africans in Germany with the continent, bridge cultures, or build unity across the African diaspora.

Media & Storytelling Excellence Award

Celebrating journalists, filmmakers, podcasters, media platforms for Black voices, challenge stereotypes, tell African stories with dignity.

Community Empowerment Award

For grassroots leaders, social workers, NGOs strengthening Black communities through advocacy, inclusion, and social support.

Black Youth Inspiration Award

Recognizing young (under 30) achievers in innovation, leadership, activism, arts.

Innovation & Tech Award

For African-led or Afro-inspired innovations in technology, science, sustainability, health that solve global challenges.

Spiritual & Wellness Leadership Award

Acknowledges holistic healers, spiritual leaders, mental health advocates promoting African-centered wellness and ancestral wisdom.

Unity & Peacebuilding Award

For individuals groups working to resolve conflict, build bridges between ethnicities, religions, or nations, especially within the African context.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Celebrating a lifetime of extraordinary service to the Black community, Pan-African values, or liberation movements.

Friend of Africa Honor

For non-African allies – institutions who have demonstrated longstanding commitment to African people, culture, or development.

“Afrofuturism Award” – for visionaries imagining and designing Africa’s future.

“Pan-African Woman of the Year” – honoring feminist leadership in the diaspora – Africa.
